1. Acceptance of Terms

OpenMystery ("we", "us", or "our") is a platform operated for the purpose of providing an AI-powered service for collecting, categorizing, and tracking unsolved mathematical problems. By accessing or using OpenMystery ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

OpenMystery provides an open platform for submitting, categorizing, tracking, and collaboratively verifying mathematical problems that have not yet been solved by AI. The service includes:

  • A searchable database of unsolved mathematical problems
  • Tools for recording AI model attempts and failure analyses
  • Community verification and discussion features
  • Subscription plans with additional features (AI analysis, export, API access)

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account. If you become aware of unauthorized access, contact us immediately at security@openmystery.org.

4. User Responsibilities

  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Use the Platform in compliance with all applicable laws
  • Not submit false, misleading, or intentionally incorrect problems
  • Not claim ownership of problems or solutions that are not yours
  • Not interfere with the operation of the Platform or its APIs
  • Comply with our Acceptable Use Policy

5. Problem Database Usage Rules

  • Problems submitted to the Platform become part of the public database
  • You retain ownership of your original submissions but grant OpenMystery a license to display, distribute, and aggregate them
  • Community contributions (comments, verifications, attempts) are licensed to the Platform for display to all users
  • Scraping or bulk extraction of the database without prior written consent is prohibited

6. Subscription Plans (V1)

We offer subscription plans for access to premium features. Current plans and pricing are available at /pricing.

6.1 Automatic Renewal

By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize OpenMystery to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel your subscription. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled before the renewal date.

6.2 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation:

  • Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period
  • You will not be charged for subsequent billing periods
  • You can cancel online via your account settings or by emailing cancel@openmystery.org

6.3 Refunds

Refunds are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy. New subscribers may request a full refund within 7 days of their first payment if usage has not exceeded 10% of the plan quota.

7. Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Waffo Pancake, our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. Payment card data is never stored on our servers. All charges appear on your statement as "OpenMystery" or "Waffo Pancake".

8. AI Content and Intellectual Property

8.1 User-Owned Content

You retain ownership of problems and content you submit to the Platform. By submitting content, you grant OpenMystery a limited license to display, distribute, and aggregate such content.

8.2 AI Model Usage

The Platform may utilize third-party AI model providers to power certain features. We use AI models from providers including but not limited to OpenAI and Anthropic. The performance and availability of AI-powered features may be affected by these providers' operational status.

8.3 AI Output Disclaimer

⚠️ AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information. Do not rely on AI outputs for legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. Always verify with qualified professionals before acting on AI-generated content.

9. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the Platform to:

  • Generate illegal, defamatory, harassing, or fraudulent content
  • Generate, distribute, or assist in creating deepfake content that impersonates real individuals
  • Generate content involving the sexualization of minors (CSAM)
  • Create malware, phishing content, or cyberattack tools
  • Infringe on any third party's intellectual property or privacy rights
  • Bypass or interfere with security features of the Platform
  • Resell or sublicense access without prior written approval
  • Use AI outputs to train competing AI or machine learning models
  • Claim AI-generated content is human-created professional work

10. Disclaimer

OpenMystery is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • The accuracy or completeness of problems, attempts, or community content
  • Any mathematical claims or solutions submitted by users are correct

We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Platform.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
  • We are required to do so by law
  • We reasonably believe your use of the Platform poses a risk to other users or the Platform itself

Upon termination, you may lose access to your account and any associated data, though publicly submitted problems and attempts may remain on the Platform.

12. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Platform is governed by our Privacy Policy. Account data is retained for 90 days after account deletion, after which it is securely deleted.

13. Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms should first be addressed by contacting legal@openmystery.org.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of material changes at least 14 days in advance via email. Continued use of OpenMystery after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
